Who we are
Dutch Course for Beginners is a free, twelve-chapter introduction to the Dutch language, built for people who are starting from zero. It grew out of a set of lessons originally written for a language-exchange meetup, and it has since been expanded into a full course — sounds, sentences, grammar, exercises and word lists, chapter by chapter.
The course is maintained as part of the www.EnglishDutch.online family of language-learning resources, alongside a companion quiz platform where you can test what you've just read.

Who it's for
This course is aimed at complete beginners — people relocating to the Netherlands or Flanders, learners preparing for an inburgering or language exam, or anyone who simply wants to understand a bit more Dutch. No prior knowledge is assumed anywhere in Chapter 0 or Chapter 1.
Our approach
We keep explanations short, examples concrete, and every new idea tied back to something you can practise immediately. The course is free to read chapter by chapter, and we link out to a few outside resources (a grammar reference, a conjugator, a dictionary) whenever they'd genuinely help — not because we're paid to.
